Katy Perry Wants To Join Glee Season 2

Following Glee Season 1‘s great great success, I’m sure a hell lot of celebrity fans would like to join the ranks of Rachel, Finn and the others. Hit star Katy Perry who sang the Billboard topping Calinfornia Gurls would love to become part of FOX’s Glee cast.

Glee is set to return after summer for its second season and we already have read news about Charice and John Stamos joining. Glee has already featured a number of celebrity guests on its show including Eve, Neil Patrick Harris, Josh Groban, Idina Menzel, and Olivia Newton-John. We have no lineup of upcoming celebrity guests yet but now we know Katy Perry wants to become one of the (lucky) them.

This is the quote from the Daily Record:

She’s desperate to star in her own Glee episode.
And she’s begging fans to start an online campaign to get her on the hit musical show.
She laughed: “Please! I would love somebody to start that Facebook group and persuade them. I would absolutely love that.”

Katy Perry is a great artist. But will she do good as a Gleek? What do you think?

So what’s the latest buzz? Twitter is flooded with praises and bashes to the Filipino Hollywood superstar, Charice Pempenco, or more commonly know as just Charice. Charice joins Glee as it returns on its second season months from now. With just a simple tweet from Charice saying she’s joining Glee, it became the latest buzz spread like wildfire. From Twitter, to Facebook, to the front page of Yahoo, this latest news is visible.

“Glee Live! In Concert!” Tour On May 2010

Glee Cast(Update: Click here for an updated Glee Live! In Concert! Tour Date Schedule) Finally, something the Gleeks have all been waiting for. The cast of Glee will be on a concert tour in four major cities in the USA on May 2010. The seven-date U.S. “Glee Live! In Concert!” tour will kick off in Phoenix Arizona on May 18, just over a month after Fox’s Golden Globe award-winning musical series’ comeback.

Everyone in the show are psyched up for the coming concert tour. Lea Michele, who plays soloist Rachel Berry, said, “This has been such an extraordinary year for ‘Glee’ and I can’t think of a better way to finish up the first season than performing live on stage with the cast.” Ryan Murphy, Glee co-creator also stated that The response of the fans to our little show has been so immediate and so gratifying, we wanted to get out and thank them live and in person.”

Just like Sectionals, the Glee cast have a set list for their live performance. This includes the group performances “Don’t Stop Believin’”. “Somebody to Love” and “Jump” and the solo performances “Don’t Rain on My Parade” and Puck’s “Sweet Caroline”.

The following Glee cast will be joining the concert tour: Lea Michele (Rachel), Cory Monteith (Finn), Amber Riley (Mercedes), Chris Colfer (Kurt), Kevin McHale (Artie), Jenna Ushkowitz (Tina), Mark Salling (Puck), Dianna Agron (Quinn), Naya Rivera (Santana), Heather Morris (Brittany), Harry Shum, Jr. (Mike) and Dijon Talton (Matt). Unfortunately, we won’t be seeing a bit of Mr. Schuester, Emma and Sue on the concert tour. Well, who knows?

“Glee” tour tickets go on sale to the public Mar. 18 for the Phoenix date and Mar. 13 for other cities; pre-sale tickets are available on Friday (Mar. 5) for American Express cardholders.

Right after the concert tour, the production of Glee Season 2 will start.

President Obama Invites The Glee Cast For A Performance

The Glee cast was invited by the Obama family, specifically Michelle Obama and the kids, to perform at the annual White House Easter Egg Roll, a health and wellness event for the Easter, on April 5, 2010, Monday. Sources confirm that the Glee kids will really be there!

Rumors also say that Mrs. Obama and her kids are big fans of the TV show. Of course, the producers of Glee couldn’t resist an invitation from the White House so they really scheduled the Glee cast for a live performance.

Another kudos for the Glee cast after Glee The Music: Volume 1 hits top spot in the UK Music Charts! Congratulations Gleeks! See them at their Easter performance! :)
